Erica Spiritos Named Women of Vision Award by DJC Oregon

Swinerton Mass Timber’s Erica Spiritos was named “2020 Women of Vision” by DJC Oregon.  Now in its seventh year, and first-ever virtual version, Women of Vision is an opportunity to highlight women who’ve forged their own path through the building industries.

Erica Spiritos was chosen for her accomplishments within Swinerton Mass Timber and for making great strides in the mainstream adoption of mass timber in the United States.

“I became interested in a career in mass timber construction as an opportunity to address and mitigate the environmental crisis of climate change. I am inspired by the vision of a skyline that so directly honors the natural resources – and the earth – on which our lives depend,” she said.

Spiritos noted that mass timber buildings serve as a bridge as “they exist at the beautiful and profound intersection of urban and rural, nature and technology, function and aesthetics.

“Our goal is to accelerate the mainstream adoption of mass timber across the US in commercial construction markets, and to support the development and design community in bringing those projects to life at scale and at a reasonable cost across every Swinerton division. We’ve built some exciting cornerstone projects so far, and our goal is to build that out even further across the country now through education.” Erica said in a Swinerton Mass Timber blog article last year.

Erica has worked on many projects for Swinerton Mass Timber including First Tech Federal Credit Union project in Hillsboro and the Beaverton Public Safety Center, a critical facility that’s built to support public safety as a base of operations for the people who are protecting our city.  Learn more about Swinerton Mass Timber Projects.

Congratulations Erica on being one of the 42 women honored as 2020 DJC Women of Vision award recipients!
